Do your children have books they’re no longer reading and are ready to give away? Please consider donating gently used children’s books for Halley Elementary students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Halley’s reading specialist will be sending books home with many students to read and enjoy over the summer and to help “grow” the children’s home libraries.
This year, most of the 35 children to whom we give meal packs are in grades 4-6, a few more girls than boys, all with varying reading and interest levels. About ¼ of these students are Preschool-Grade 3.
Please drop off books by Sunday, May 12th in the specially marked bin in the church gallery.
Our book collection is another way AUUC is involving our children and youth in our partnership with Halley Elementary School and deepening this special relationship. Thank you from our Social Justice Committee.
