Read & Discuss Banned Books, May 14

New Kid by Jerry Craft
and
The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story by Nikole Hannah-Jones and the New York Times Magazine

Now in our second year, Racial Justice and True Accotink Colors host a monthly Banned Book Club on the second Tuesday of every month. Our next discussion will cover two books! We’ll continue our discussion about last month’s read, The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story. We will also discuss the award-winning graphic novel New Kid. The book is about a child who starts a new school and finds himself torn between two worlds—and not really fitting into either one.

Join us Tuesday, May 14 at 7pm (via Zoom) to discuss this book. Contact Mary Kfor the Zoom link and to be added to the Banned Book Club mailing list.
